Vinyl mat
Straightforward - a practical mat with an easy to clean top. The underside is a fabric and no slipping issues so far. Very happy with this entry-level mat.

50cm Roll up Chess board (vinyl mat)
I bought this item based on its utility and inexpensiveness. I give 4 out of 5 marks not because it is flawed in any way, as it is perfect in what it is for its intended purpose, but because it is an inexpensive roll up chess board, and giving 5 out out 5 seemed inappropriate on a site that has some exceptionally fine boards. This roll up board is exactly as I hoped and more in that I did harbour fears that the material would maintain a "memory" causing it to not sit flat. This fear was unfounded. Its kinks up very little around the edges and really that is all you can ask of a vinyl chess mat for a mere 15 bucks. I am very happy with it and can see it being of service for quite some time; indefinitely if well cared for. The printing is perfect and appears to be permanent. The registration of the printing likewise, clear and accurate. It also has the Algebraic co-ordinates conveniently added peripherally so that time keepers, adjudicators, kibitzers and patzers can ascertain the Algebraic notation from any angle even standing on their heads; though it must be set white to right A to left of course and novices can botch this but only once I'd imagine :). So to my mind, this makes this item the perfect tournament or ad hoc board for clubs utilizing shared premises on a rostered basis or any other ambulatory gatherings of players 50cm timber/lumber boards is impractical or impossible without great labour; as they play well, sit quite flat but are easy to pack and move in large numbers single handed. For what it is, It's great, its that simple.
